Door Hardware & Screen Repairs
Doors and screens wear out in small ways that add up: a hinge sags, a strike plate drifts, the weatherstripping flattens, a lockset starts to feel loose. None of it needs a remodel — just a careful pass with the right tools. I take on the small fixes that bring doors and screens back to working the way they should.
Typical work stays in the permit-free lane: adjusting hinges, shimming strike plates, replacing locksets into the existing door prep, swapping weatherstripping, and re-screening or patching torn screens. If the door itself needs to be replaced or the opening needs to be cut or enlarged, that is a different project and a licensed contractor should handle it.

Lock & Smart-Lock Installation
Upgrading security should not mean a construction project. If your existing door is already prepped for a standard deadbolt or handle set, I swap it for a new compatible lock — including most battery-powered smart locks — and make sure it throws cleanly, latches properly, and is aligned with the strike.
I also help pair the smart lock with your phone, set up keypad codes, and make sure it speaks to your hub or app before I leave.
- Deadbolt replacement
- Smart lock swap using existing prep
- Keypad & app pairing
- Handle set & entry trim swaps

Sticking Doors & Loose Hardware
A door that drags on the jamb or a latch that never quite catches usually needs shim work, a hinge tweak, or a strike-plate re-fit — not a replacement. I diagnose the issue, adjust hinges, plane a high spot if needed, and get the strike aligned so the door closes the way it used to.
Hinge & strike tune-up
Re-seat sagging hinges, tighten loose screws with longer fasteners, re-align strike plates.
Interior door adjustments
Bedroom, closet, and bathroom doors that stick, bind, or will not latch properly.
Screens & Weatherstripping
Small improvements along the edges of a door or window do a lot. Fresh weatherstripping keeps drafts out and AC in, and fresh screens keep bugs out without rattling in the breeze. Both are quick, budget-friendly fixes — no permit, no construction.

Screen Repairs
Re-screening window screens, patching torn mesh, fixing bent frames, and replacing tired door sweeps.
- Window screen re-mesh
- Sliding-screen track fixes
- Pet-resistant mesh (where fits)

Weatherstripping
Replacing door-bottom sweeps, adhesive foam seals, and jamb weatherstripping that has flattened or peeled.
- Exterior door sweeps
- Foam & V-seal jamb strips
- Threshold adjustments
Scope & Honesty
I do not replace full doors, cut new openings, install new windows, or modify framing. If that is what your project needs, I will tell you up front and refer you to a licensed contractor.
