Battery-Powered & Plug-In Smart Devices
Smart home gear is easy to buy and surprisingly tricky to set up well. I handle the part most people dread — unboxing, mounting straight and level, pairing to Wi-Fi, and walking you through the app so the device actually earns its place on the wall. This page covers battery-powered and plug-in devices only; no new wiring, no circuit changes.
I work with most mainstream brands — Ring, Nest, Eufy, Wyze, Arlo, August, Yale, Schlage, SimpliSafe, TP-Link, Kasa, and similar — and I focus on a clean install that looks intentional and performs reliably over time.

Video Doorbells & Cameras
I install battery-powered video doorbells and plug-in cameras where the existing mounting surface works for it. That means drilling through stucco, wood, or trim where needed, placing the device at the right height and angle for useful coverage, and making sure the signal reaches your router before I leave.
Hardwired doorbell transformers and new low-voltage wiring are not part of this service — those should go to a licensed electrician.

Smart Locks, Hubs & App Pairing
Battery-powered smart locks drop into most existing door preps without any electrical work. I handle the swap, align the strike so the bolt throws smoothly, pair the lock to your app and phone, and set up your first keypad codes so the family is ready on day one.
For wider smart-home setups, I also help place hubs and bridges (Hue, SmartThings, Aqara, etc.) and confirm each device shows up in the right app before I leave.

Hubs & pairing
Hubs placed near router, bridges powered, devices linked, rooms labeled.
Minor Electrical-Related Work
Some small electrical-adjacent tasks are permit-exempt in certain cities — like swapping a light fixture for the same type on an existing circuit, or replacing a face-plate. I only take that kind of work when the specific task, in the specific city, does not require a license or permit. If it does, or if it is not clear, I refer to a licensed electrician.
Setup Tip
Smart plugs and scheduling can add most of the convenience of smart lighting without opening any walls or changing house wiring.
